Vietnam Airlines has announced that about 30 flights to China were delayed because of overloaded airports and bad weather in China.

Several airports in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangzhou were unable to accommodate the sudden surge in the number of aircraft during peak times.

Adding to the bad weather, the flights could be delayed for hours and badly affect the passengers as well as the schedules of the carriers, the Vietnam national flag carrier announced on July 10.

Over 30 flights from Vietnam to China were delayed in the first week of July. It is predicted that the problem will continue for months.

Vietnam Airlines said that it had adjusted the landing and departure hours to minimise the impact on passengers, tried to complete the boarding procedure five minutes earlier than usual and built specific operational plans for flights to and from China.

It promised to constantly update information to the passengers so they can adjust their schedules.
