More than 4,500 officers, soldiers of the Navy, Coast Guard and Fisheries Surveillance forces, along with oil and gas employees in Ho Chi Minh City, participated in early voting for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the municipal People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 term, 17 days ahead of the nationwide election day.

On the morning of February 26, in Long Son commune, Ho Chi Minh City, 120 voters who are officers and soldiers of Naval Region 2 Command cast their early ballots for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term. These personnel are preparing to depart on long-term missions at sea.

Alongside voting activities on land, Naval Region 2 Command coordinated with the Long Son commune Election Committee to see off two task forces boarding the vessels Truong Sa 04 and Truong Sa 21. Their mission is to deliver ballot boxes to the DK1 platforms, on-duty ships and Vietnamese fishermen operating offshore.

Also on the same morning, at the headquarters of Naval Brigade 129 in Phuoc Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City, 214 voters who are officers and soldiers from Naval Brigade 128 and Naval Brigade 129 cast ballots for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 term. The organization of the vote was carried out in a synchronized manner, following proper procedures and ensuring democracy, transparency and compliance with regulations.

At the headquarters of Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No. 2, 178 voters who are officers and soldiers of Coast Guard Region 3 Command and staff members of Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No. 2 also took part in early voting. These two units have 309 voters who will conduct voting at sea in areas bordering Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia while on duty.

Notably, the polling station at Vung Tau Airport, under the Southern Service Flight Corporation, recorded the largest number of voters, with 2,800 people casting ballots. They are officers and workers currently serving on offshore projects, vessels and oil rigs at sea, including personnel of Vietsovpetro.
