A devastating fire engulfed a five-story boarding house in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, early on December 27, leaving two dead and causing significant property damage. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the blaze.

As of 8:00 AM today, local authorities in Thu Duc City were still examining the scene of a fire that occurred at a boarding house on Street No. 10 in Tang Nhon Phu B Ward.

The fire, reported around 5:30 AM, broke out on the ground floor of the building, which was used as a parking area for tenants.

The building, consisting of one ground floor and four upper levels, housed approximately 20 rooms with dozens of residents.

The fire spread rapidly, leaving nearby residents unable to intervene in time. Panic ensued as tenants scrambled to escape the burning building.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, Thu Duc City’s fire and rescue team dispatched multiple fire trucks and dozens of firefighters to the scene.

The blaze was brought under control within 30 minutes.

The fire claimed the lives of two tenants, identified as Tran Thi T. (born in 2004) and Nguyen Truong G. (born in 1999), both from Thai Binh Province.

Several other residents sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage and investigating the cause of the fire.
