The pottery of Chu Dau has been through some fluctuations in popularity, first flourishing during the 13th-17th centuries but facing a decline after this period.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of scientists and related authorities, as well as the support of the business community, the pottery handicraft has been revitalised.

With its unique characteristics from the past, it remains one of the nation’s most beautiful ceramic styles.

Much effort and technique are required to produce a Chu Dau pottery product, from selecting materials to drawing and joining the component parts – all are done by hand.

After 15 years of restoration, Chu Dau pottery has regained its reputation, attracting customers both at home and abroad. The products now appear in 30 international markets.
