Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018 has been slated to take place from April 29 to June 30 and is expected to attract eight teams.

This is an annual event held by the central coastal city of Danang. 

This year will see the participation of the host team and seven others namely France, China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and the US.

The fireworks shows will be displayed at weekends for at least 20 minutes each on the Han River.

The competition champion will receive the prize of USD 10,000, while USD 5,000 will be for the second.

In conjunction with the event, many activities will be organised across Danang City such as a street parade, beer and food festivals, and flash mobile dance performances.

Held for the first time in 2008, the competition has become an important annual cultural and tourism event, contributing to foster cultural exchange and entice many foreign tourists to Danang and Vietnam as well.

At last year's competition, the Italian team Martarello SRL took the first prize, while the second and the third prize went to the Australia and UK teams respectively.
