Her degree, signed by university president Professor Ho Dac Loc, was issued on August 28, 2025.

According to Dr. Pham Van Sy, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Public Relations and Head of the Psychology Department, “Student Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung is clear proof that learning knows no age or limitation. Throughout her academic journey, she demonstrated remarkable seriousness, responsibility, and meticulousness. She often arrived early to class, stayed after lessons to discuss topics further, and even reminded classmates of assignments and schedules.”

What made Kim Nhung particularly special was her active, constructive participation in class.

Her insights were profound, enriched by life experience and a long career in the hospital environment, which gave her a practical lens for applying psychology to real-life situations.

She persisted through technical hurdles such as online learning systems, testing platforms, and digital coursework, ultimately fulfilling all course requirements and graduating with honors.

According to Dr. Sy, Kim Nhung’s learning journey vividly reflects the lifelong learning values upheld by both the university and broader society.

“Her story is a brilliant example of the spirit of ‘learn, learn more, learn forever,’” Dr. Sy emphasized.

“To graduate with top honors at age 70 despite all obstacles is a deeply meaningful and inspiring testament to self-learning capacity and the limitless hunger for knowledge. Learning isn’t just for the young - it’s a continuous process of self-development, social adaptation, and discovering joy through knowledge.”

Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung has sparked widespread inspiration, not only among those in her own generation but also among the youth, serving as a reminder that the flame of passion and learning never dies.
