If more effective measures aren't taken, elephants will disappear from the Central Highlands' region.
Many elephant conservation programs have been implemented in Vietnam, but the efforts have not stopped the decline of the elephant population.
The project on conserving Dak Lak elephants by 2020, capitalized at VND80 billion, has brought positive changes in the province. One elephant is pregnant and is expecting a baby in 12 months.
The members of the Dak Lak Elephant Conservation Center are all “amateurs” as they were never professionally trained to take care of elephants. However, their love for and understanding of the animals is well known.
