The 9th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from June 8-17.

The event is organised by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), embassies of the EU member states, and the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio (NDSFS).

This year’s film festival will screen 11 international films and 15 Vietnamese films.

The international films include productions from France, Wallonia-Brussels (Belgium), Germany, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Czech, the UK, and Israel.

The films have won prestigious awards in Munich, Nyon, California, Prague, and Melbourne.

The selection of Vietnamese documentaries have also won prizes, such as the Golden Lotus, Golden Kite, and Environmental Film Award.

The films focus on major cultural and social issues in contemporary life such as the family, disasters, migration and the lives of immigrants, urban planning, traffic, and the preservation of traditional products.
