An ongoing exhibition of sculptural and architectural works across the city kicked off with an awards ceremony at the Hanoi Museum last week.
The exhibition features 68 best works out of 578 entries sent to the arts council, 15 among them were awarded by the ministry.
The event was co-organised by the Department of Arts, Photography and Exhibtion under Ministry of Cultures, Sports and Tourism, the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association and the Viet Nam Architecture Association.
In time of intergration and urbanisation, sculpture and architecture are essential to beautifying the landscape and enriching citizens’ daily lives, the organising board said.

First prize went to Tran Van Thuoc from the northern province of Ninh Binh with The Source of Life, while second prize was awarded to The Wings of Vũ Quang Sáng and third prize went to Architectural Symbol at Northern Traffic Island of Dak Bla Bridge, Kon Tum by Nguyen Lan Anh, Energy by Ly Duc Hai, and Relax by Luu Thanh Danh.
The organising board said it hopes the event will help establish the arts market, bringing arts to daily life and contributing to the growth of cultural industry in Viet Nam.
The exhibition lasts until November 19.
