"Join us to earn money in one musical note. You can gamble online right here, right now. Register an account to enter our VIP room….". It's offerings from a fanpage named Co Bac Vip (Vip Gambling).

This fanpage streamed live all day a young girl playing “xoc dia” (coins shaken in a bowl), with the enthusiastic participation of many Facebookers.

Only a few minutes after the "live streaming", the fanpage attracted more than 500 gamblers. When the live streaming ended, the 45-minute video had over 64,000 views and over 2,100 comments from gamblers.

However, it is not hard to see that these live stream videos are "fake". This video was played repeatedly and shared on many different fanpages.

The creation of such streaming video clips is fairly easy. Fanpage owners only need to prepare a video and use OBS software to stream live the video from their PC to Facebook. These videos quickly reach users because Facebook is prioritizing live videos to popularize the live video feature.

Once users click on the attached link shared with the live video, the gambling website will appear. Players are lured to deposit into an account of the banker to start the game.

Lawyer Ha Hai, a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association, said that this was illegal behavior. "It's a disguised online gambling. According to the law of Vietnam, gambling is prohibited in any form," Hai said.

The lawyer said that despite the form of gambling one play, the gambler faces administrative fines or criminal penalties, depending on the severity. The introduction of online gambling on social networks is also prohibited and handled according to regulations.

Upon its launch in late March 2016, Facebook Live quickly attracted many users in Vietnam. This feature allows users to broadcast live and interact in real time with friends.

However, this feature is being abused for malicious purposes such as sex, violence or gambling advertising. Recently Facebook Live feature was used to disperse pornography contentin Vietnam.
