The accident occurred at around 3:30 pm on April 6 along provincial road DT.761, passing through Hong Lam hamlet in Hoa Thang commune.
At the time of the incident, a 24-seat passenger bus bearing license plate 86H-045.61, whose driver has not yet been identified, was carrying a group of divers traveling along the coastal DT.761 route from Hoa Thang commune toward Tuy Phong.
Upon reaching the intersection with the Hoa Thang - Hoa Phu dual carriageway in Hong Lam hamlet, the vehicle suddenly lost control, surged forward, and plunged into a deep ravine.
At the scene, the bus was severely deformed, with multiple passengers trapped inside, crying out for help in panic. Local residents quickly responded, assisting in rescuing victims and transporting the injured to nearby medical facilities.
Shortly afterward, local authorities arrived and began rescue and recovery operations.
According to Nguyen Duc Hai Tung, Secretary of the Hoa Thang Commune Party Committee, the accident resulted in four fatalities and 12 injuries.
By nearly 5:00 pm, the crashed bus had been lifted out of the ravine. Authorities are currently examining the scene and investigating the cause of the accident.
