Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan has just granted Vietnamobile Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (Vietnamobile) a licence No. 568/GP-BTTTT to create a public telecommunications network and a licence No. 569/GP-BTTTT to provide 4G to its customers.
With the reception of these licences, which are valid until September 15, 2024, Vietnamobile has become the 5th telecom firm to be approved as a 4G-service provider in Vietnam along with Viettel, VinaPhone, MobiFone and Gtel.
Until this moment, Vietnam’s 3 giant operators of Viettel, VinaPhone, and MobiFone have already delivered this 4G service. Only Gtel has not announced any official information related to its strategic implementation of 4G.
Vietnamobile has yet revealed its detailed strategy for investment in 4G, but there are high chances that thanks to its innovative business model, its business partner Hutchison will continue to heavily invest in the new service in order to increase Vietnamobile’s competitiveness in Vietnam market.
Recently, Vietnamobile has increased its investment in building thousands of 3G base transceiver stations nationwide as well as creating 6,000km of optical cable network to meet its customers’ highest needs.
