Actress Viet Huong won Best Actress for the second consecutive year at the 2026 Da Nang Asian Film Festival, while blockbuster Red Rain secured only one award despite multiple expectations.

Veteran actress Kieu Chinh has been presented with a commemorative award by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) in recognition of her nearly 70-year career and her role in fostering connections between Vietnamese cinema and Hollywood.

At 89, acclaimed actress Kieu Chinh drew attention as she returned to Vietnam for the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, where she expressed hope the event would strengthen cultural and cinematic exchanges.

Vietnamese motion picture Quan Ky Nam (Ky Nam Inn), directed by Leon Le, has won the Best Director Award at the Asian Art Film Festival (AAFF) 2026, marking a notable milestone for Vietnam’s growing presence on the regional and global cinema stage.

"Mua Do" (Red Rain), the acclaimed box office phenomenon, secured the prestigious Golden Lotus Award - the highest honor at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 25.

The organizing committee of the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III) has confirmed to VietNamNet that actor Ji Chang Wook will attend the opening ceremony of DANAFF III on June 29.
