On the evening of July 2, thousands of residents and visitors gathered along Nguyen Hue Boulevard and Bach Dang Wharf in downtown Ho Chi Minh City to watch a special fireworks display commemorating the 50th anniversary of Sai Gon–Gia Dinh officially being named after President Ho Chi Minh.

At exactly 9 p.m., fireworks illuminated the city's night sky.

The dazzling display left many spectators deeply moved as the city celebrated the milestone of 50 years since officially bearing the name of President Ho Chi Minh.

Nguyen Thi Anh, a resident of Binh Loi Trung Ward, said she arrived early to secure a good viewing spot. "When the first fireworks burst across the sky, I felt incredibly happy and emotional. This year's display was beautiful, sparkling, and well worth everyone's anticipation," she said.

To mark the occasion, Ho Chi Minh City staged fireworks at 16 locations, including five sites featuring both high-altitude and low-altitude displays, alongside 11 sites with low-altitude fireworks.

Ngoc Tham said she had planned well in advance to join a group of friends in the city center to watch the fireworks celebrating the 50th anniversary of Sai Gon–Gia Dinh officially being named after President Ho Chi Minh. "This is a meaningful event, so we were all excited. Everyone arranged their schedules so we could experience the festive atmosphere together and create unforgettable memories of our city," she said.
