The central city of Da Nang will resume an international fireworks festival after a three-year hiatus due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hanoi will not set off fireworks on lunar New Year’s Eve this year in an effort to focus on the ongoing COVID-19 fight and protect local people’s life.

People will stay at home and enjoy the high altitude firework display on Vietnam Television, which is scheduled to be live broadcast on Lunar New Year's Eve.

The capital city of Hanoi will cancel fireworks display in all of its 30 districts as planned in the Lunar New Year's Eve, which falls on February 11, in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
