Lac Hong University became the first university in Viet Nam to buy two robots, named NAO, from Japan for study purposes.

Fifty eight cm in height, NAO is the first humanoid robot of Japan-based SoftBank Robotics. He has continually been evolving since the beginning of his adventure in 2006.

NAO is an endearing, interactive and personalizable robot companion, according to the company’s website.

The university said it planned to buy seven more NAO to participate in the future RoboCup.

The Dong Nai province-based Lac Hong University’s LH-FF team successfully overcame 31 other competitors to win the champion title at the Viet Nam Robocon 2016 which concluded in Ninh Binh province on May 14.

After 12 consecutive years participating in Viet Nam Robocon, Lac Hong University has won six first prizes. They also triumphed at ABU Robocon 2014 held in India.
