Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong

According to Forbes magazine, Vuong, the richest in Vietnam, was ranked 198th on the list with total assets of USD7.5 billion.

Earlier in October 2018, Vuong stood at 227th in the list with USD6.5 billion.

Compared to late March 2018, Vuong’s total assets increased by USD3 billion.

A 13% increase in the value of Vingroup’s shares in the first week after Vietnam’s stock market reopened following a 9-day Tet (Lunar New Year Festival) is seen as a major factor for Vuong’s net worth, putting him into the top 200 list.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, the other Vietnamese billionaire and owner of budget carrier Vietjet, ranked 1015th in the Forbes ranking with USD2.3 billion.

Tran Ba Duong, chairman of Truong Hai Auto Corporation was ranked at 1,329th with USD1.7 billion.

In March 2011, Vuong’s assets on the Vietnamese stock market were estimated at around USD1 billion.

He was first named as a billionaire on the Forbes list with a net worth of USD1.5 billion, ranking 974th richest in the world.
