On February 7, a festival to pray for a good fish harvest – the Cau Ngu Festival – opened in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
The two-day event begins with rituals to make offerings to the gods. It is followed by lion dances and performances re-enacting fishing and trading activities in the coastal village. The festival also features a procession of the whale god through villages to the communal house as well as the floating of flower garlands and coloured lanterns to the sea. |
