At noon, the Da Nang Border Guard Command confirmed that the fishing vessel QNa 91917-TS had suffered a fire and capsized around 1:00 AM while operating approximately 110 nautical miles northeast of Da Nam Island.

Upon receiving the emergency alert, authorities swiftly mobilized other fishing boats in the area to aid in rescue efforts.

Speaking to VietNamNet, Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Tuy - Commander of Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station - said all 55 fishermen aboard the ill-fated vessel were safely rescued and were being brought ashore.

The QNa 91917-TS is a squid-fishing vessel with a capacity of 1,242 CV, owned by Huynh Van Anh (born 1972), and captained by Huynh Van Hau (born 1995). Both are residents of Nui Thanh, Da Nang.

The vessel had departed An Hoa Border Guard Station on November 11.

While the cause of the fire has not been officially confirmed, authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
