Five students were badly injured and nearly 200 motorbikes were ruined early Tuesday morning when a fire occurred in Nha Trang Dorm’s parking area in coastal Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province.

About 200 motorbikes of students in Nha Trang Dorm in Nha Trang City were destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning.

The dorm in the city’s Vinh Hai Ward is for students of Thai Bình Duong University and Telecommunication University.

The students, who were reportedly sleeping, awoke upon hearing an explosion and saw smoke spreading to their rooms.

Khanh Hoa Province police used four fire engines and dozens of firefighters were mobilised to extinguish the fire.

The dorm management board opened a nearby dorm to accommodate nearly 300 affected students.

The police are investigating the incident.
