Foreign arrivals to Vietnam reached 812,017 in October, bringing the total foreign travelers in the first ten months to 8,077,397 up 25.4% against last year’s corresponding period, reports the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO).
Of the figure, 6,777,084 foreigners travelled by air (up 31.1%), 121,549 by sea (down 14.9%) and 1,178,764 by road (up 4.5%).
Most markets saw a growth compared to the same period last year. They include Hong Kong (up 72.5%), China (55.2%), the Republic of Korea (40.1%), New Zealand (35%), Thailand (30.8%), Italy (30.3%), Spain (27.3%), Russia (27.1%), the Netherlands (24.2%), Sweden (22.3%), the UK(21.7%),Germany (18.5%), Laos (18%), Taiwan (15.9%), Malaysia (15.6%), the US (14.2%), France (13.3%) and Japan (10.8%)....
The number of domestic tourists for ten months leading up to November is estimated at 53.3 million. Total revenue from tourism increased 19.1% to VND331,500 billion.
