Speaking to VietNamNet on the morning of December 3, local authorities in Dai Dong commune confirmed the incident and said that the local government had promptly stepped in to stabilize the situation.
According to the report by the People's Committee of Dai Dong commune, at approximately 3:30 PM on December 2, around 400 sewing line workers gathered in the company courtyard, ceasing work to protest against a Chinese production manager who allegedly frequently shouted at workers and made disrespectful, offensive remarks.
The workers also voiced concerns regarding excessive working hours and unsatisfactory compensation policies.
Upon receiving the report, local authorities immediately directed relevant departments to coordinate a response. Leaders from the commune People’s Committee and the local trade union visited the site, engaged both the company and the workers in dialogue, and encouraged the workers to remain calm and avoid disrupting public order, while helping both sides find common ground.
Following discussions, the company agreed to replace the current production manager to ensure a safer, friendlier, and more positive working environment for employees.
The company also pledged to review and implement clearer, mutually agreed-upon internal regulations to improve transparency and fairness in workplace practices.
