Nguyen The Ky, deputy head of the
Central Committee’s Propaganda Department, said a dedicated media centre
will try to create the most covenient working conditions for reporters.
"We'll hold regular press meetings to update information on the Congress," Ky confirmed. "And at the closing of the Congress, the newly-elected General Secretary will chair a news conference to answer questions from the media."
The 12th National Party Congress will focus on reviewing the implementation of the 11th Congress’s Resolution, and the outcomes of the 30-year reform cause, Dinh The Huynh, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education, told a news conference in Hanoi on January 18.
"It will also define directions, targets, tasks and measures for nation building, safeguarding and development in the next five years," he said.
Huynh said 1,510 delegates, representing more than 4.5 million Party members, will be at the Congress.

During the congress, members of the 12th Party Central Committee - the most supreme leading body of the Party between the two congresses - will be elected.
Kazuomi Shimizu, of the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), said of key interest will be socio-political and economic issues, the country's strategies on economic development, and foreign relations, especially the East Sea.
