On the evening of December 31, thousands of domestic and foreign tourists flocked to Ta Hien Street (Hoan Kiem District), to drink beer and wait for the countdown to the new year.
The weather on the last day of the year was quite cold but could not stop the flow of people pouring into Ta Hien Street. 
Ta Hien Street is always crowded with foreign tourists, who come to taste draught beer and local food. Although it was difficult to move and find a seat, everyone loved the bustling atmosphere here on the last night of the old year.
Jim (a tourist from Scotland) was excited when he celebrated the New Year with his family for the first time in Vietnam. As soon as he saw the camera, he shouted “Happy New Year!!!”
This was the third day of Sam and Rowan (Scotland) in Vietnam. Sam loved the vibrant atmosphere in Hanoi. 
Lion (USA) said that he really liked the Vietnamese way of welcoming the new year. “I heard that the Vietnamese call this day the Western New Year, and after the Western New Year, you also celebrate the traditional New Year, which is to welcome the New Year twice. This is really exciting!”, Mark said.
Irina Nia (England) has lived in Vietnam for 7 years and has never stopped loving the Tet atmosphere here. This year is more special when Nia has friends from India and Spain who come over to celebrate the new year 2023  with them. 
They wore conical hats to mingle on the last night of the year.
Many people expressed interest when welcoming the new year in the Vietnamese style, eating Vietnamese dishes.
Welcoming the new year in Vietnam, in a joyful and bustling atmosphere, foreign tourists were extremely excited. Everyone happily enjoyed the last evening of the year.
Not only foreign tourists, many Vietnamese also gather in Ta Hien to share the joy and excitement of looking forward to a brilliant 2023.
