Representatives from nearly 50 leading Japanese information and communication technology (ICT) firms attend a forum to promote Vietnam-Japan ICT cooperation in Tokyo on March 31.
Minister Truong Minh Tuan speaks at the event
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan highlighted the fruitful development of Vietnam-Japan relations in all fields, including ICT.
Most of Japanese groups have entered and operated successfully in Vietnam, such as Fujitsu, NTT, Canon, NEC and Hitachi, Tuan said, adding that Vietnam has become a destination for foreign investors, particularly in the field of ICT.
Tuan underlined the strong development of Vietnamese ICT enterprises such as the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Mobifone, FPT, and VTC, saying that they boast potential in terms of capital, technology and human resources.
Vietnam’s ICT sector is integrating deeper in the world market, offering a golden opportunity for foreign groups to invest in the country, he said, adding that the Vietnamese Government will create optimal conditions for Japanese companies to do business in Vietnam.
The minister expressed his hope that Vietnamese and Japanese ICT businesses would find more cooperation opportunities and sign more contracts, thus benefiting both enterprises as well as the people of the two nations.
Shinya Saito, Manager of Global Business Development at NTT DATA Corporation, said the forum presented a chance for expanding ICT cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
