Their houses and offices have been searched for evidence. They are accused of falsifying documents to illicitly import scrap into the country.

The Ministry of Public Security has coordinated with the General Department of Vietnam Customs under the Ministry of Finance to investigate and capture individuals and organizations caught violating the waste import regulations.

The two agencies will continue to specify the responsibilities of those involved in easing the backlog of more than 10,000 scrap containers at ports, in accordance with the law.
