A report from the police said that the tragic scene was found at the house of Ho Xuan Hai, 52, at 10 am on August 23. After having been unable to contact the family by phone, some of their relatives came to their house and found Hai unconscious while his wife and their three daughters were already dead.

Hai was rushed to the hospital where doctors found that he had food poisoning. He was given intensive treatment and has improved. However, he has remained silent and refused to meet and answer questions from other people.

According to neighbours, Hai and his wife owned a large pig farm and had a stable income. They seemed to be a happy family and got on well with relatives and neighbours. Their three daughters aged 21, 14, and 10 were all well-behaved and performed well at schools.

However, it is said that Hai had recently incurred a large debt and his wife had fallen into depression.

Police are further investigating the case.
