Four individuals have tragically lost their lives, including one person in Quang Tri central province who was struck by lightning, a child in Thanh Hoa central province who slipped into the Don Stream while playing near it, and one person each in Hoa Binh and Son La northern provinces who were swept away by flash floods.
Additionally, two individuals are currently reported as missing in Son La Province.
The flood has also resulted in significant property damage in various areas.
A total of 24 houses were submerged, and 60 others became isolated in northern Hoa Binh province.
In Quang Ninh Province, two houses collapsed.
A total of 75 houses were damaged by landslides, with 49 in Hoa Binh, six in Son La, one in Yen Bai, 19 in Lao Cai, and three in Phu Tho.
Over 14,700 hectares of rice were destroyed, while 7,213 hectares of farm produce were submerged, and 3,717 hectares of crops were damaged.
Two dyke landslides happened in Hanoi.
The first landslide, measuring approximately five meters in length, occurred along Bui Road near the Ly Nhan Pumping Station in Nam Phuong Tien Commune, Chuong My District. Local authorities are actively working to address and improve the situation.
The second landslide, measuring 10 meters in length, occurred along the Day Dyke in Vien Noi Commune, Ung Hoa District.
Additionally, severe landslides were reported in Lao Cai, Phu Tho, and Hoa Binh provinces. — VNS
