Though the Vietnam dream of making the AFF Suzuki Cup is over, there were some decent individual displays of talent out there on the evening of December 7 in Hanoi, says FourFourTwo.

The top-rated football magazine singled out midfielder Minh Tuan and defender Van Thanh as the two best performances in the second-leg of the AFF Cup competition between Indonesia and Vietnam at My Dinh Stadium.

Vu Van Thanh – 7.5

Vu Van Thanh was a bright spark despite his side’s failure to progress. Pushed up well from the left side of defence and was always a threat going forward. Showed composure to fire home a crisp shot from the edge of the box on 83 minutes to lead the initial Vietnam comeback.

Vu Minh Tuan – 7.5

Vu Minh was a livewire after coming on for Van Toan on 57 minutes, ever willing to run at defenders and get shots in. His persistence paid off late on as he squeezed past two defenders before slotting into the bottom left corner to push the game into extra-time. A pity that he could not sustain his efforts in the extra periods.
