Samsung is set to introduce its latest flagship lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, in a global Unpacked event on February 25. The tech world is now abuzz with questions: will the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra live up to the hype, and more importantly, can they deliver the breakout performance Samsung is hoping for?

A wave of credible leaks has painted a fairly consistent picture of what to expect. While nothing is official until Samsung confirms it, the convergence of information from reliable sources has added weight to the most recent timeline.

According to trusted industry insider Evan Blass, Samsung’s Unpacked event will take place on February 25 - information he describes as “100% accurate.” French tech site Dealabs has also reported that the Galaxy S26 series will go on sale globally on March 11, citing strong internal sources.

This means tech fans now have a new date to mark on their calendars. March 11 is expected to be the official release date for the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra. As with previous years, Samsung is likely to open pre-orders shortly after the launch event, though exact timing hasn’t been confirmed. Based on past trends, pre-orders could begin immediately following the February 25 announcement.

The Unpacked event will begin at 7 PM Paris time on February 25. That’s 6 PM in London, 1 PM in New York, 10 AM in Los Angeles, 2 AM on February 26 in China, 1 AM in Vietnam, and 11:30 PM in India.

Samsung appears to have timed the event strategically to maximize global viewership. As the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, every Galaxy S series launch garners millions of online views and widespread attention.

Interestingly, both the launch (February 25) and release date (March 11) fall on a Wednesday. Samsung has traditionally released Galaxy S devices on Fridays, but this year, the second Friday after launch would fall on March 13 - a date often seen as unlucky in Western cultures. Choosing March 11 instead may reflect a subtle but calculated marketing decision.

No Galaxy S26 Edge - for now

Another noteworthy detail from the leaks is the confirmation that only three models - Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra - will be unveiled and released in this cycle. Despite earlier rumors, there will be no Galaxy S26 Edge debuting in March.

Reports about the S26 Edge have been murky. Some speculated the model had been scrapped entirely, while others suggest it's still under development and could launch at a later date. If it does arrive, it likely won’t resemble the controversial designs previously rumored. Instead, Samsung may refine the design language from the S25 Edge, which struggled to meet sales expectations.

Given the underwhelming performance of the S25 Edge, Samsung seems intent on focusing its energy on the core trio of the S26 lineup. These devices are expected to compete directly with Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 and iPhone 18, as well as the highly anticipated first-generation iPhone Fold.

Will the Galaxy S26 series be a breakout hit?

The critical question now is whether the S26 series can achieve blockbuster sales. The odds are promising, but analysts believe the lineup may perform on par with the Galaxy S25 series, rather than breaking new records.

Pricing is likely to be the determining factor. If Samsung maintains price parity with last year’s models, consumer interest should remain high. However, even slight increases - especially in price-sensitive markets - could dampen demand amid growing caution over personal spending.

Still, the S26 series has strong momentum heading into launch. With an increasingly clear roadmap and high expectations from Samsung fans, the trio of S26 devices could solidify Samsung’s dominance in the premium smartphone arena once again.

If there are no last-minute surprises, February 25 and March 11 will become key milestones in the evolution of the Galaxy S line.
