Many people had to queue for long hours on Sunday evening in HCM City as local petrol stations announced they would run out of fuel.
A young father took his four-year-old son to the kindergarten. On the way, he stopped at a gas station for filling, then going straight to his office, forgetting the boy at the filling station.
The Ministry of Finance’s (MOF) decision on setting the commission ceiling level at VND430 per liter has faced the strong opposition from agents. Analysts believe the “commission war” would last a long time.
Four enterprises have got the licenses from the Ministry of Industry and Trade to operate as the petroleum distributors in the domestic market. The number of the distributors would still be rising.
VietNamNet Bridge – The fire of a gasoline tank injured 12 people, a garage fire burned down over 30 motorcycles, and a house fire killed a woman. These are several fires reported in Hanoi this week.
At least 13 people were reported injured in a fire at a gas station in Hanoi, yesterday, including nine fire fighters and three employees of the gas station. All of them are being treated in the Saint Paul hospital.
VietNamNet Bridge – At nearly 2pm on June 3, columns of smoke and fire covered a tank truck in a filling station on Tran Hung Dao Street, Hanoi. Over three hours later, the tanker was still burning and posed explosive threats.
According to the HCM City Fire-fighting Police Department, all petrol stations in the city will be checked from now to the end of July 2013.
