Upon arrival, General Secretary and President To Lam, his spouse, and the Vietnamese delegation were warmly welcomed by Roberto Morales Ojeda, Permanent Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces Alvaro Lopez Miera, Minister of the Interior Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas, and Head of the Communist Party's Central Committee’s External Relations Department Emilio Lozada Garcia.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long and staff from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba were also present to greet the delegation.

This marks General Secretary and President To Lam's first official visit to Cuba in his capacity as General Secretary and President. Cuba is among the first countries he has visited since taking office.

The visit comes as the two nations prepare to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1960-2025). Over the past 65 years, the traditional solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and mutual support between Vietnam and Cuba have been continuously strengthened and developed across various fields.
