Amidst fluttering flags of Vietnam and Mongolia and a ceremonial guard lining the red carpet, the arrival scene was picturesque, set against a backdrop of falling snow. Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg greeted General Secretary and President To Lam, introducing him to the assembled Mongolian officials.

The visit promises a series of significant events, including an official welcome ceremony hosted by President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. Discussions between the leaders are expected to focus on major strategic directions and collaborative efforts across various sectors such as politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

During his stay, General Secretary and President To Lam will meet with Mongolia's Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Parliament, and leaders of major Mongolian economic groups. Several new agreements are anticipated to be signed, aiming to materialize the discussed objectives.

This state visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia, adding a commemorative significance to the trip. Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh highlighted the visit's primary goal of elevating the bilateral relationship to new heights, reflecting the potential and historical depth of the two nations' ties.

A Vietnamese Culture Day will be held from September 30 to October 1 in Ulan Bator, symbolizing the friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
