More than 700 journalists from domestic and international media attended the press conference.
Opening the session, General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure in meeting with the journalists who had been covering the 14th Party Congress over the past week.
“The Congress concluded just moments ago. I am delighted to meet you here today and sincerely thank you for your tireless presence at the press center. Your reporting has kept the people of Vietnam and overseas compatriots, as well as international friends, closely informed of the Congress’s developments and direction,” he said.
On behalf of the Presidium and the newly elected 14th Central Committee, the General Secretary officially declared the 14th National Party Congress a historic success.
“This is a milestone in the 96-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and in the thousand-year cultural and heroic journey of the Vietnamese nation,” he said.
He highlighted the Congress’s key themes: unity, democracy, discipline, breakthrough, development, responsibility, dedication, intellect, science, people-centered governance, strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, national pride — all in pursuit of a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam advancing toward socialism.
He affirmed that the 14th Party Congress was a true Congress of unity and consensus, reflecting the will, determination, and aspiration of the Vietnamese people and the Communist Party in the country's new development phase.

The General Secretary reiterated that all relevant information had been fully and promptly provided by the Congress organizers and the press center.
He expressed appreciation for the media’s role in effectively conveying the spirit and momentum of the Congress to the public and international audiences.
He also emphasized the high degree of consensus in both the Congress’s adopted documents and the selection of personnel for the new Central Committee.
The 14th Central Committee includes 200 members: 180 full members and 20 alternate members. Immediately following the Congress, the Committee held its first meeting to elect the Politburo, the Secretariat, the General Secretary, and other key Party bodies. Assignments of responsibilities for Politburo and Secretariat members were also made.
General Secretary To Lam described the newly elected Central Committee as an outstanding representation of the Party’s more than 5.6 million members — individuals chosen for their ethical standards, credibility, capability, and qualifications, entrusted with leading the Party and country in this new chapter.
He said the Congress has also outlined a strategic vision to build a Central Committee, Politburo, Secretariat, and top leadership for the 16th term that will be a collective marked by integrity, strength, unity in action, exemplary conduct, and a willingness to sacrifice for the noble cause of the Party and for the happiness of the people.
The Congress also reached consensus on historical resolutions aimed at fulfilling the two centenary strategic goals defined by the 13th Congress.
The General Secretary concluded his remarks with a note of optimism and conviction:
“With the strength drawn from the nation's historical roots, the nearly century-long leadership tradition of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the unity and support of the people, and the encouragement and cooperation of our international friends and progressive forces around the world, we are fully confident that we will successfully implement the 14th Congress Resolution and build a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy socialist Vietnam.”
After his remarks, General Secretary To Lam answered questions from the press.
