German jazz singer, composer and sound artist Michael Schiefel will perform at a free concert at HCM City’s Lotus University on November 8.
Schiefel will open the night with a solo performance of “My Home is My Tent”, which is the name of his fourth solo album.
He will also present an interactive soundscape called “Five Emotions for Hanoi” with musician and media expert Fabian Bronner.
Inspired by his trip to Hanoi in early 2016, Schiefel has created an acoustic environment where the audiences are invited on an emotional journey, from happiness to sadness, from anger to satisfaction, and from coldness back to happiness.
Born in Munster in 1970, Schiefel graduated from the Berlin University of the Arts in 1996 in jazz singing and music education.
He has released four solo albums, performed at numerous festivals, and provided master classes in the US and Europe.
Schiefel has also worked as professor of jazz singing in the Franz Liszt Conservatory of Music in Weimar since 2001.
The programme will begin at 6.30pm at 6 Nguyen Van Trang Street in District 1.
