On August 19, a series of projects were inaugurated and launched across Gia Lai Province. Six new projects have broken ground, including: the construction of Runway No. 2 and auxiliary works at Phu Cat Airport; the infrastructure investment and business project at Phu My Industrial Park; the Vinanutrifood Binh Dinh complex for agricultural and forestry product production and processing; and three technical infrastructure projects in the Binh Thanh, Cat Hiep, and Cat Hanh industrial clusters.

Two other projects were inaugurated on this occasion: a road connecting the western provincial route to the coastal route in Phu My District, and a bypass road south of Phu Phong town.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phu My Industrial Park (Phase 1), Chairman Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that Gia Lai plays a crucial role in geography, economics, politics, and national security within the South Central and Central Highlands regions. The province boasts a synchronized, multimodal transport network connecting closely with major economic hubs through national highways, railways, expressways, and airports.

“The integrated connection between Quy Nhon International Seaport, Phu Cat Airport, Pleiku Airport, and the Le Thanh International Border Gate has greatly enhanced trade capacity and met transport demands for both goods and passengers. This forms a solid foundation to attract large-scale investment projects and drive fast and sustainable socio-economic development,” Chairman Pham Anh Tuan asserted.

He also confirmed that the groundbreaking of Runway No. 2 at Phu Cat Airport marks a significant step toward transforming the facility into an international airport in the near future.

According to Chairman Tuan, Gia Lai will soon launch several other key projects across multiple sectors. These projects, together with the current critical infrastructure developments, will serve as a catalyst for economic and social progress, cementing Gia Lai’s role as a central hub linking the South Central, Central Highlands regions, and the country at large.

Thanks to persistent efforts in improving the investment environment, upgrading infrastructure, streamlining administrative procedures, enhancing workforce quality, and building a transparent, stable, and attractive business climate, Gia Lai has drawn numerous corporations and investors from both Vietnam and abroad, including Kurz, GEO, PNE (Germany), WGR (Netherlands), Syre (Sweden), Fujiwara, Marubeni (Japan), and Daewon, Seoul Energy, CJ (South Korea).
