Gia Lai province has new Chairman

The Government has confirmed Mr. Truong Hai Long as new Chairman of the Gia Lai provincial People's Committee.

Deputy Secretary of Gia Lai provincial Party Committee and Chairman Gia Lai provincial People's Committee Truong Hai Long.

Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has recently signed Decision 1165/QD-TTg to ratify the election for the post of Chairman of Gia Lai provincial People’s Committee in the 2021-2026 period.

Truong, aged 46, was elected to the new role on September at the seventh meeting of the Gia Lai provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure with 94.36 percent of the votes in favor.

He is currently serving as Deputy Secretary of the Gia Lai provincial Party Committee – a body which oversees Party affairs in the locality.

Truong will replace his predecessor Vo Ngoc Thanh who was dismissed from his position by the Government chief on August 22 due to his violations to the forestry law and the management and administration of some projects in the area./. VGP
