Minister Nguyen Manh Hung hands over the Prime Minister's appointment decision to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam.



The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) on September 12 held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Director of MIC’s Press Authority, as the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications.

Mr. Lam, 50, graduated from the Faculty of French Language, University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University - Hanoi. 

Mr. Lam has many years of experience in the field of journalism. He joined  Vietnam Television (VTV) in 1993 as a French-language editor. Over the next 20 years, he assumed various positions at VTV and had many television works that impressed the public.

After that, he was General Director of VTC Digital Television, and Deputy Director of MIC’s Press Authority.

In August 2016, he was appointed Director of the MIC’s Department of Broadcasting - Electronic Information. He has held the position of Head of the Press Authority since February 2020.

The Ministry of Information and Communications currently has five Deputy Ministers, including: Mr. Phan Tam, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Mr. Pham Duc Long, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam.
