At the 12th session of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council, 2021-2026 tenure, delegates elected Mr. Nguyen Huu Que, 52, Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment and Mr. Duong Mah Tiep, 52, Secretary of the Party Committee Ia Grai District as Vice Chairs of the Provincial People's Committee.

Tiep used to hold positions such as: Deputy Chief of Police of Ia Grai District, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Grai District of Gia Lai Province.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Que was previously Chairman of the People's Committee of Pleiku City, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Grai District, Director of the Department of Transport and Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Gia Lai Province.

Earlier, at the 10th session of the 12th Gia Lai Provincial People's Council, 2021-2026 term, delegates dismissed Mr. Do Tien Dong, Mr. Ho Phuoc Thanh and Mr. Kpă Thuyen from the position of Vice Chair of the Provincial People's Committee.

After being dismissed, Mr. Do Tien Dong was assigned as Deputy Head of the Propaganda Commission of the Party Committee of Gia Lai Province while Mr. Ho Phuoc Thanh was assigned to be Deputy Chief of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee’s Office. Mr. Kpă Thuyen retired according to his personal wishes.

In August 2022, the three above officials were warned by the Central Inspection Commission for their violations.
