The People's Committee of Gia Lai province has announced a plan to organize a brocade fashion show with the theme "My Gia Lai". This is a coordinated program between the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and Vietmode Company Limited.

The program will take place from October 28 to November 13 in Pleiku City. In particular, the brocade fashion show on the evening of October 28 at the Dai Doan Ket Square will introduce designs inspired by brocade. The program will also feature many activities to honor the culture and history of ethnic minorities - the owners of the Gong Cultural Space heritage.

This is an activity to preserve and promote the heritage value of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space as committed to the UNESCO. Among them, brocade costumes and patterns are among the outstanding values that need to be preserved.

The brocade fashion show with the theme "My Gia Lai" will introduce to domestic and foreign tourists the image, the land, and the people of Gia Lai with its beautiful natural scenery and diverse culture, potentials to develop tourism and a system of typical and long-standing relics. It will also help raise people's awareness in preserving and promoting cultural values and traditional crafts, contributing to building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture.

Within the program, the Gia Lai Brocade Space associated with the Central Highlands ethnic groups will be also organized. Artisans will introduce and demonstrate to visitors the operations and practical skills of local traditional crafts.
