Giai Son Market, nestled 15km north of Tuy Hoa city center in An My commune, Tuy An district, has earned a reputation as one of Vietnam's most economical culinary destinations.

Dubbed "the cheapest traditional market in Vietnam," or simply "the market where you don't need to look at the price," Giai Son delights visitors with its extensive array of delicious dishes offered at remarkably low prices.

Tourists from across the country, including Mr. Vo Thanh Lap, a tourism content creator from Ho Chi Minh City, travel long distances to experience firsthand the market's legendary affordability.

"I was genuinely amazed by the incredibly low prices of many delicious dishes here," Mr. Lap remarked, citing examples such as banh can at 5,000 VND for 8 pieces, banh uot at 3,000 VND per plate, and banh xeo priced at 2,500 VND each.

He emphasized that even heartier options like vermicelli with fish cakes or banh canh with full toppings are priced at a mere 10,000 VND per bowl.

During their visit, Mr. Lap and his companions sampled a wide array of dishes, indulging in favorites such as seafood pancakes at 5,000 VND for 2 pieces, and banh bon bon skewers at 1,000 VND for 5 pieces. Despite their hearty feasting, they managed to spend less than 50,000 VND ($2) per person.

"The banh xeo stood out for me, with its unique seafood filling and a savory fish sauce that's different from what I'm used to in the South," Mr. Lap shared, highlighting the market's commitment to quality and distinctive flavors.

To fully enjoy the market's offerings, Mr. Lap advised arriving early, as the market operates only from 5am to noon daily, with many stalls selling out by 9am. This early visit not only guarantees a wide selection but also provides a glimpse into the vibrant morning activities of local vendors.

Beyond its culinary delights, Giai Son Market is celebrated for the warmth and hospitality of its vendors. "The locals are incredibly friendly; their smiles are infectious, even if you're just inquiring about prices," Mr. Lap observed.

Located on the northern tourist route of Phu Yen, Giai Son Market allows visitors to combine their visit with exploring nearby attractions such as Bai Xep, Hon Yen, and Ghenh Da Dia. The best time to visit is from April to June, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities.
