“Since last year, we’ve started selling tickets, and we found that this price is not too high for most people. It ensures commitment from the audience because, with free tickets, they might choose to stay home if it rains. The theater should be filled, and we don’t want empty seats. Aside from a limited number of complimentary tickets, we want the tickets to reach all audience groups, and this price is affordable for students,” Mr. Olivier Brandt said.
KinoFest 2024 will take place from October 10–15, 2024, at the National Cinema Center, Hanoi. This year, nine films have been selected for screening, including feature films, documentaries, and animated works. Several films are family-friendly and aimed at younger audiences.
The Teacher’s Lounge, a film that has earned numerous nominations and awards in Germany, Europe, and America, including a nomination for Best International Feature Film at the 2024 Oscars, has been selected to open the festival on the evening of October 10.
The film was shot in Hamburg, Mr. Olivier Brandt's hometown, and he considers it the best work among those featured at this year’s festival.
After a thorough selection process, the festival's themes this year cover a wide range of topics from psychology and family to adventure, science, and realistic documentaries. KinoFest 2024 promises a diverse array of films reflecting many social issues happening in Germany today.
The films include The Teacher’s Lounge, The Theory of Everything, The Champions, Life Isn’t a Race but I Will Win, In the Blind Spot, Shahid, Love and Fear, Adventures, and Tobi the Curious and the Adventure to the Flying Rivers, showcasing stunning scenes that capture the majestic beauty of Son Doong Cave, Lan Ha Bay in Vietnam, and the Amazon rainforest in Brazil.
