The sight of brides adorned in gold necklaces and bracelets always garners special attention online. This year, several weddings stood out for their jaw-dropping dowries and dazzling displays of wealth.

A bride from Dong Thap receives 1,000 gold taels

In late October, a gold-laden wedding in Dong Thap province sparked widespread discussion.

The bride, Minh Thu, is the daughter of a prominent jewelry shop owner in Hong Ngu City, Dong Thap. On her wedding day, her mother gifted her 9.9 billion VND, 1,000 gold taels, and various other precious jewelry pieces. The total dowry value exceeded hundreds of billions of VND.

A viral video showing Minh Thu receiving her dowry captured her adorned in oversized gold rings, bracelets, and intricately designed necklaces.

The wedding also featured unique gold-crafted items such as a golden armor set, hairpins, floral-shaped gold rings, and even a bridal bouquet made of gold. Most of these items were custom-designed by the bride's mother and meticulously crafted as wedding gifts for her daughter.

A Ben Tre bride wears 26 gold taels

In September, the wedding of Minh Thu (born 2004, Ben Tre) and Minh Duc (born 2001, An Giang) attracted attention with the bride's impressive dowry of 26 gold taels, cash, and other gifts from both families.

Images of Minh Thu wearing layer upon layer of gold necklaces and bracelets astounded viewers. Her radiant beauty as a bride also became a topic of admiration.

The couple’s love story was blessed by both families, who share a long-standing friendship. The groom's family owns a rice milling business, while the bride's family deals in rice trading. These connections helped pave the way for the couple's union.

Thanh Hoa bride adorned with “gold within gold”

In October, the wedding of Mai Trang (born 1998, Thanh Hoa) and Van Tuan (born 1993, Thanh Hoa) drew particular attention. The bride was seen wearing “gold within gold,” as family members had to layer the gold necklaces around her neck due to the sheer volume.

Mai Trang revealed that her parents gifted her 15 gold taels, while relatives and friends contributed an additional 2 gold taels. Her two older brothers also presented her with 1 billion VND in cash.

Beyond these, there were numerous other valuable gifts from the groom's family that the couple had not yet managed to catalog.

On her wedding day, Minh Tam wore 15 gold taels, including three-tiered gold necklaces around her neck. Her wrists and fingers were similarly adorned with an abundance of gold rings and bracelets.

At the time of the wedding, gold prices were at a record high, further amplifying the public's fascination with the opulent display.

The couple had dated for three years before their marriage. Huy Hoang is a manager at a travel agency specializing in international airline ticketing, while Minh Tam returned to Vietnam after studying in Japan to support her husband in his business.
