GotIt!, an app allowing users, primarily students, to pick the brains of experts for ten minutes and founded by Vietnamese Tran Viet Hung, has raised over $9 million in Series A and Seed funding, it announced on April 29.
Already in the Top 5 downloaded education apps in the US, Vietnam's GotIt! announces receipt of Series A and Seed funding.
The Capricorn Investment Group, founded by Jeff Skoll, the first President of eBay, which funds breakthrough ideas such as Tesla, QuantumScape and Planet Labs, led the Series A funding. Fosun Group’s Brad Bao, who formerly headed up Tencent Investments, led the Seed round.
GotIt! instantly connects student to an expert, who interactively works with them through a step-by-step explanation of school work problems.
It finds quality, vetted experts who care deeply about teaching others. “We built a pretty cool, proprietary marketplace algorithm to find/cost/match the expertise,” the GotIt! announcement added.
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, GotIt! has seen amazing engagement and traction, with 40 per cent month-on-month growth and solving hundreds of thousands of problems every month.
The app now is one of the Top 5 most downloaded education apps on the App Store in the US. It’s running in open beta and the GotIt! team has just recently launched an android version.
