Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has emphasized the government’s determination to fulfill socio-economic development tasks set for this year.

Closing the government’s monthly meeting for June, the Prime Minister said Vietnam is likely to achieve a GDP growth rate of 6.7%. 

The cabinet leader underlined the need to strengthen administrative reforms.

“It’s necessary to improve the business environment. Ministries, sectors and localities need to effectively implement the government resolutions. 

We also need to accelerate the disbursement of investment capital, focus on helping farmers to restore agricultural production, especially in the Mekong River Delta, south central region and the central highlands. Expanding the export market and the local consumption market is also one of the major tasks," he said.

The Prime Minister asked ministries to flexibly and effectively ensure fiscal and monetary policies, ensure the macro-economic stability, and control inflation. 

He urged enterprises to increase their productivity and competitiveness.
