The National Election Council has announced the list of 500 deputies elected to Vietnam’s 16th National Assembly, including several members of the Government, ministers, deputy ministers and heads of ministerial-level agencies.
Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Deputy Prime Minister, previously served as a National Assembly deputy of Lao Cai province in the 15th term. Born in 1964 and originally from Nghe An, she has once again been elected in Lao Cai.
General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defence, was a National Assembly deputy representing Thai Nguyen province in the previous term. Born in 1960 in Ninh Binh, he has been re-elected in Thai Nguyen.
General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, was elected in Hung Yen province. Born in 1965 and also from Hung Yen, this marks his first term as a National Assembly deputy.
Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs, is currently a National Assembly deputy representing Hue city. Born in 1961 in Hue, he has been re-elected in the same locality.
Tran Duc Thang, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, has been elected as a National Assembly deputy for the first time. Born in 1973 in Phu Tho, he secured a seat in Can Tho city.
Do Thanh Binh, Minister of Home Affairs, previously served as a National Assembly deputy for An Giang province. Born in 1967 in Ca Mau, he has now been elected in Ho Chi Minh City.
Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance, was a deputy in the 14th and 15th terms, representing Dien Bien province. Born in 1973 in Hanoi, he has been re-elected in Dien Bien.
Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health, previously represented Bac Ninh province in the 15th term. Born in 1971 in Hai Phong, she has been re-elected in Bac Ninh.
Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Construction, served as a National Assembly deputy for Cao Bang province in the previous term. Born in 1967 in Hanoi, he has been re-elected in Cao Bang.
Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, has been elected as a National Assembly deputy for the first time. Born in 1968 in Hanoi, she secured a seat in Son La province.
Le Manh Hung, acting Minister of Industry and Trade, previously served as a National Assembly deputy representing Ca Mau province. Born in 1973 in Hanoi, he has been elected in Hai Phong city.
Hoang Minh Son, acting Minister of Education and Training, has become a National Assembly deputy for the first time. Born in 1969, he was elected in Hanoi.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, previously served as a deputy in Ho Chi Minh City. Born in 1966 in Ninh Binh, he has been elected in Dong Thap province.
Senior Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, Deputy Minister of National Defence, has been elected as a National Assembly deputy for the first time. Born in 1967 in Quang Ninh, he secured a seat in Thanh Hoa province.
Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, has also been elected for the first time. Born in 1966 in Hue, he was elected in Ho Chi Minh City.
Trinh Viet Hung, Standing Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, was elected in Lao Cai province. Born in 1977, this is his first term as a National Assembly deputy.
Vu Hai Quan, Standing Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, previously represented Ho Chi Minh City in the 15th term. Born in 1974 in Ninh Binh, he has been elected in Quang Ngai province.
Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has been elected for the first time. Born in 1967 in Ninh Binh, she secured a seat in Hanoi.
Phan Chi Hieu, Deputy Minister of Justice, has also been elected for the first time. Born in 1969 in Ninh Binh, he was elected in Ca Mau province.
Nguyen Quoc Doan, Standing Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate, has been elected as a National Assembly deputy for the first time. Born in 1975 in Ninh Binh, he secured a seat in Hue city.
Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, previously served as a National Assembly deputy in the 13th and 14th terms. Born in 1964 in Bac Ninh, he has been elected in Khanh Hoa province.
