HCMC has been approved to display two firework shows on the New Year's Eve
According to the notice, the municipal People’s Committee will host the fireworks displays for 15 minutes each at the given locations, as in previous years.
Also, the shows must be held in line with the Government’s Decree on firecracker management and use, must not use the State budget and must ensure the safety and security of people and properties in the surrounding area.
These fireworks performances are backed by private funding, stated the municipal government. Through these shows, the city hopes that local residents will enjoy a delightful start to the new year.
As for the upcoming Lunar New Year, or Tet holiday, HCMC plans to display six fireworks shows, including one performance at high altitude at Saigon River Tunnel and the rest at low altitude in five different locations across the city, also for 15 minutes each, on February 5, 2019, or the first day of Tet.
