A branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) in the central city of Hue was robbed by an armed man at about 5pm on December 6.

At that time, the bank employees on Mai Thuc Loan Street were counting the money when a masked man charged in and threatened the whole room with a gun. He took an unverified amount of money and ran away on his motorbike.

Local people tried to chase after him but the man fired two shots. No one was hurt.

Witnesses said they heard the loud noises like gun shots and the incident happened really fast.

Colonel Dang Ngoc Son, deputy head of police force in Thua Thien-Hue Province said the suspect might have used BB gun as they had found some spherical bullets at the scene.



 

Police are still investigating the crime scene



Families of the bank employees were also horrified after hearing the news. A father quickly ran to the scene and was relieved when knowing that there had been no casualties.

The city and provincial police took statements from bank and checked security cameras. The case is under investigation.
