The highlight of the occasion will be a music gala which will kick off the festival at Square 26/3 in Ha Giang city on the evening of March 30.

The function will see chefs of the Japan Vietnam Gastronomy Association create 50 dishes made from buckwheat flower which is expected to set a Vietnamese record. The organisers will put on a tour to various sightseeing spots across Ha Giang province and a seminar aimed at promoting the local tourism brand.

Culture and tourism exchanges and art performances will be held as part of the event, aiming to boost mutual understanding among Ha Giang province and other localities worldwide.

Last year Ha Giang was voted as Asia's leading emerging tourism destination for the first time at the 2023 World Travel Awards.

Back in 2010, the Dong Van Karst plateau in Dong Van district was officially recognised by UNESCO as a global karst geo-park, the first of its kind in the nation and the second in Southeast Asia.

The first international culture, tourism, and cuisine festival is expected to promote positive images of Ha Giang province to the world, according to the organisers.
