From early morning, Bui Van Khang, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, together with leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ha Long International Passenger Port, were present to welcome the international “first-footers” of the year.

The two cruise ships, Seabourn Encore carrying 571 passengers and Piano Land with 1,793 passengers, mostly from Hong Kong (China), Europe and the US, docked at Ha Long International Passenger Port in a joyful New Year atmosphere.

Here, visitors expressed delight and excitement as they received lucky red envelopes from the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee. Many shared their enthusiasm at experiencing Vietnam’s Lunar New Year for the very first time.

“I am truly surprised by the warm welcome from everyone. I am also impressed by the traditional Tet rituals of Vietnam. For us, this is a wonderful beginning to our journey exploring this heritage bay,” said Paul and his wife Juli, visitors from the US, with evident joy.

After the welcoming ceremony, tourists followed an itinerary to explore Ha Long Bay, along with city tours discovering local culture, cuisine and daily life. Immigration procedures, security arrangements and tour coordination were implemented in a synchronized and efficient manner, ensuring safety and convenience.

In the following days - February 19 (the third day of Tet), February 20 (the fourth day of Tet) and February 24 (the eighth day of Tet) - the port is scheduled to consecutively receive the cruise ships Le Jacques Cartier of France, Adora Mediterranea of the Bahamas and Silver Nova.

The fact that Ha Long International Passenger Port is set to welcome five super cruise ships during the Lunar New Year holiday underscores Quang Ninh’s growing status as a favored destination on the itineraries of international cruise lines.
